Unparallel. Unconventional. Unexpected.
When looking for entertainment for an event, the first question to ask should be "What is the purpose of the entertainment?" Most of the time it is to create a mood / set the tone for the event, other times it's to entertain the guests as a show, but every now and then it's to make a statement.
We love it when a client wants something out of the box. Something unexpected. The "wow factor". So when we got a call for this particular request for a product launch we knew that All Stars Band was the perfect fit.
The event was a clever marketing stint to create awareness for the launch of the new Volkswagen T-Roc. A container was constructed on the corner of William Nicol and Sandton Drive in Johannesburg, a busy intersection for morning traffic, to grab attention. A ballerina danced to the music of an electronic band : female DJ spinning AfroHouse and AmaPiano with beautiful violin melodies and jazzy keys riffs.
The artists delivered en pointe: Unorthodox. Unordinary. Unexpected. The passers by were treated to new sounds with familiar beats and a general feeling of all the good vibes to get your day stared. The whole 3 hour event was also live streamed to the Facebook pages of Kaya FM, Power FM and East Coast Radio with pictures captured by Ben Matjiu.
VW are rolling out a series of exciting launches across South Africa (Johannesburg 27-29 November, Cape Town 5-6 December, Durban 12 December) and the idea is that you register for tickets to attend what promises to be "the most Instagrammable event series of 2020". There will be performances by Sun el Musician, Nakhane and some unanticipated surprises along with a test drive, refreshments and a cocktail finale.
